Spotting Jersey Shore

After a day of visiting Palazza Pitti, Ponte Vecchio and walking around the Duomo, none of these beautiful, historical monuments excited me more than when I came upstairs and spotted Pauly D, Vinny and the Situation outside my apartment window.

When Sami told me they were right beneath our place, I practically fell off the couch and lept to the window. I am the only one in our apartment who has yet to see the cast around Florence (this is where they are shooting season three…and it just so happens that I am here in Florence studying abroad…coincidence? :D ) I was frantic to get downstairs. SAmi and I grabbed cameras, sunglasses and our trash—everything you need to be an inconspicuous creeper. I wanted to pretend to be taking out the trash and “happen” to see the Shore. The thing is, the trash cans were in the opposite direction of where the Shore was sitting (and Sami was afraid the polizia would once again see our green trash bags and know we were the ones who left our trash on the side walk the other day). But I was willing to take a ticket. Anything to see the Shore.

We walked right up to them—well right up to the place where they were being filmed, anyways. I was in such awe I forgot to take pics. So all these photos my J.Shore photos are Sami’s. Pauly D and Vinny spotted Sami taking photos and me just drooling in front of them right away. Pauly smiled and said (on film!) “Hey, are there any girls studying abroad out here?” I about died.

Sami and I moved on to actually take out the trash—we had to figure out how to go back to the trash cans without looking like complete stalkers. But we made a loop back to the apartment and once again I just stared like a little kid in front of a mountain of candy.

When they finally moved off their bench in front of my apartment, they passed Sami and I and all I could manage was a wave. AND GUESS WHAT?! Pauly D smiled and winked at me. I think my heart skipped a beat.
